I'm new to this collaboration thing. Is the ONLY way to get someone into a project to issue an email invite? One that comes from Autodesk? I'm having a time getting someone able to join a project I created, because they aren't getting emails from Autodesk- I suspect an over zealous server level spam filter. But whatever the reason, I'm having trouble sorting out the options for setting up collaboration. They have just gotten an Autodesk ID, and installed Fusion. But no joy getting connected so far.

Ron,
Make sure that the invitation went to the e-mail address that the Autodesk ID is associated to. I know that's bitten me before, sending an invite to the wrong address.
If the e-mail address is correct, could the other user check the Projects page in his dashboard to see if the shared project is listed? Do you see the user's name or e-mail address in the "Project Members" pane of the Project's home page? Also, what about in the Alerts drop down or in the Inbox? Does the other user see an invitation to the project? I believe one will show up.
Note that a refresh may be necessary prior to checking Projects page.
Please keep me posted on your progress.
Thanks,
Definitely using the same email. Will the invite show up in his Fusion dashboard, even if he never received the email? I asked him to check, but not before he had gone home for the day. He just signed up for Fusion/ Autodesk today, after I sent the invitation to join the project.
I just did a quick test with a co-worker to see what happens if you ignore the e-mail. I found that if you invite someone to a project, it will show up in the alerts and there is no need to click on the link in the invitation e-mail.
There is even a link to the project in the Alert drop down.
Ron - are you guys seeing this? If not, you may have to Remove him from the Project and then re-invite him since he had not yet created a hub.
To Remove:
1. Go to the projects home page
2. Select the Details link in the Project Members pane
3. Find the user and select the Remove button
In the above test, the other user already had signed in and created a hub, so this may not be an apples to apples comparison.
Since Fusion 360 also allows you to share a web browser viewable version of a design, there may be some confusion. The viewer looks exactly like the Fusion 360 dashboard. Do you know if they launching the Fusion 360 application and not trying to access via a web browser?
Thanks,
Nathan,
My invitee was able to see the project in his hub when he installed Fusion 360 got it set up, and is able to view the design. The email was not necessary, as you found, so we're up and running. But I think this process is not well described in the help / documentation- it seems more to be discussing social aspects of sharing designs publicly- kind of Fusion Facebook- rather than group collaboration.
Steps I would want to know as a new user:
How to show a design (not collaborate, just view) to someone who is not using Fusion 360, without making the design public. Do they need any software, or just (as I believe) a web browser and the permalink- but not, apparently, Safari? Is it only Chrome?
How to go about inviting one or more people to collaborate on a design if they are using Fusion- again, without making this public. I'm understanding this more now, but it really was not clear to me from the Help section.
Something more clear about the various options for keeping a design private while collaborating or sharing with a selected group. Maybe a chart? The Hub/ Project/ Group architecture is still kind of fuzzy to me.
Like Frank, I experience the dashboard sharing aspects as something of a muddle- one I don't understand well enough to make constructive suggestions.
