Error opening file, mismatched software versions mac/pc

Hey all,

Im running 360 on both a mac and a windows 7 box.

The other day the mac did a software update to 360. After which I showed a file to someone and made some minor changes.

Today when I try to open that file on the PC I get the attached error. Im assuming I just need to update the PC however im not exactly sure how to do this...

Any and all help is greatly appreciated...

Fusion 360 should prompt you to download an update and then restart when done, automatically installing the update. Have you restarted Fusion 360 since receiving this error message?

Thanks,

Hi, yes quiting and relaunching 360 does not prompt for an update...  Is there a way to manualy trigger a update check?

Thanks for the update. Can you verify the Version number listed in the Help drop down menu > About > About Fusion 360 dialogue? The current version should be listed, 1.8.674.

You may also check into things that may interferre with the software update/online connectivity. For example, you may consider temporarily disabling:

-Firewalls

-Anti-virus software

-User Account Control (UAC) Settings (In Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\User Accounts > User Account Control Settings > Lower the slider to the 'Never Notify' position)

It may also be a good idea to clear your internet browser cache and the temp directory.

-In your Internet Browser > Press CTRL + SHIFT + DELETE > OK to clear cache

-In Start Menu search bar type %temp% to open the temp directory > delete the contents of this directory (as much as you can)

After performing these suggestions, restart Fusion 360 and look for alerts to warn you about the update.

I'm not aware of any triggers to "force" update. I will look into that option deeper, though.

Please keep us posted on your progress.
