Showcase a part with a cutout

Hi all.

I'd like to know if it's possible to Showcase a part and have a portion cut out to reveal the interior of the part? Imagine I have a nylon tube with a metal rod running through the middle. Can I somehow cut out a portion of the nylon tube to expose the metal rod running through it?

Yes you can easily to that using the cross section tools in Showcase. 

Look under the help file of SHowcase and find out how to work with cross section. 

Something to keep in mind is that cross section are only affecting the objects that are associated with it. 

Cross section are only working under hardware rendering mode.
