Trimming weirdness

Can someone explain this?

Smoke does not allow me to trim clips that touch each other and have no handles.

If there are no handles, what do you have to trim?

I want to trim to the left. This has always been working and it stills does in every former project.

I saw you trim the top segment which worked but it wounded trim the segment underneath.

What is the difference between those two segments….

Is it possible that the segment at the bottom is part of a sync group and the other segments won't trim any more. Try ungrouping the bottom segment to see if there is a difference.

Hi Grant,

there are no groups or something similar. The difference between the two tracks is, that the upper right clip has some handles on the left.

Look at this: http://www.schallundrauch.tv/trimming2.mov

As soon as the two clips touch and the handles go to 0 they stick together. Tried to create a new user and looked everywhere in the prefs...

Is there any setting on project setup that can cause this?

Cheers

Alex

Hey Alex,

I can't replicate it here.

have you tried deselecting the cut and than reselecting it?

That cursor in the video should allow you to trim segments without it locking to the incoming segment.

Very strange indeed.

Hi Grant,

thanks for taking care.

I can hardly stop myself from trying to get behind those bugs instead of simply ignoring them. That is the real issue...

Cheers

Alex

Thanks Alex,

I spoke with one of the team and they have replicated the issue.
