Hi.
Please run the "system checker" app from the Applications/Autodesk/Smoke Common Utilities folde, and post the output here.
Please also start the Services Monitor from the same folder and let me know if any of the Status lights are not green. (it's ok if the ADLM one is not green, as you don't use a license server with the Student edition).
Lastly, please open the Console app from Applications/Utilities, keep it open and start Smoke. When Smoke crashes, take a look at the Console and post here any recent error messages you find there.
