I've seen a few tutorials of people using a python script to create an .clip file from an exr sequence.
Here is an example of what I'm talking about: http://youtu.be/hbiPlmn2aoY?t=28m20s
Is this script available anywhere online?
Thanks!
I'd also love to see this. The Gateway Clip import is nice but it requires a bunch of R&D time to make the XML files.
It'd also be great to be able to create simple ones from within Flame, i.e. choose a folder and an XML file is created containing all EXR sequences under that folder. The main benefit is being able to version CG renders up and down quickly and that shouldn't require complicated .clip files...
It would actually be nice if when you did the "load as version" thing it figured out what the version number pattern was. If I load a version that's identical in name except for the _v02 it's pretty obvious that I'm going to want to go up to _v03 at some point 😉
Actually, you can create your own ones when exporting in Batch.
Just use the export nodes in Batch and you can set up the settings to create versions of your clips. This will produce the appropriate files that you can open and look at.
Thats very general but it will give you a starting point to pick it apart.

I had started taking apart a .clip file exported from batch a few days ago. After looking at it and the documentation I realized that it'd take a bit of work to write a script similar to the example video. I figured I'd ask around to see if there was a publicly available script before I started the process of writing my own.
Thanks!
