Long DNxHD 185X very slow in smoke

I had a 59 minute quicktime at DNxHD 185X and Smoke was very slow to scrub around the file (10 seconds or so to move to a new position). The same video exported as ProResHQ was fine (59 minutes) as was a 10 minute section at 185X.

I also tried native MXF media as well as the quicktime wrapped version but both wouldn't play in Smoke.

Is this a known problem with long Avid media files? Would more memory help?

Thanks

Sven

There was a bugfix mention for 2015 Ext1:

"Cannot play back long QuickTime clips (DNxHD and probably other codecs)"

but I don't know sepcifically what "cannot play" means (plays badly? crashes?)

It looks like it crashes but just takes ages to go to a new frame - so is effectively broken. Glad to hear that there is a fix in sight, hopefully that will be released soon...

Thanks

Yes Flame 2015 just had an Ext 1 release with this fix... But there is no update for Smoke. This is somewhat disturbing.
