Do you mean the "Lost+Found" library in a project? That's a library where VIC (the volume integrity check tool) puts all "floating" frames it finds on the storage. I.e. frames that are not referenced by any clip.
You can simply delete those frames.

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=15496908&linkID=9242618If you mean the /lost+found directory on your Linux system drive... that one is used by the file system checker utility to place orphan files it finds on disk (i.e. files that take disk space but are not located in any directory). Normally that directory rarely ever gets such a huge amount of data. That means there was some corruption on your system drive. You can open it in a terminal and delete the files inside, just make sure NOT to delete the actual directory.
