Composite (from the App Exchange)

Everything about it says 2014. The installer, the default folder names, even the Help > About.
I already have Composite 2014 courtesy of Max 2014, so what's the difference (if any, apart from the new one not requiring a "parent" License) between the 2 releases?

Help > Release Notes takes you to a Maya page with the only Release Notes for Composite being for 2010 and 2011, which is not overly useful. My concern is (possibly unfounded) that the new one has been "cut down" in some way, in which case I'll be uninstalling it unless, and until, the result of Eric's Thread is that significant improvements are made.
No, I didn't let it overwrite the existing install, before anyone asks 😉

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

I'm sticking with what I have until I hear that it has been improved in some way.
