Can you add frames in ConnectFX?

I pulled a key in CFX with multiple masks, color fx, and media inputs, but I later realized I needed a few more frames from the head of the shot. I tried to trim and add a few frames in the timeline, but my keying work was not viewable. Does CFX lock in the frames for the clips that are being worked on? Is there a simple way to add the frames without rebuilding the nodes?

I am guessing that you keys/Gmask are animated?
If you trim out the tail of your clip your effect should still continue on assuming that the clip in questions also has tails in CFX. Check the timmming channels in CFX for clip length. You can also trim out there.

If you key/masks are animaationg then you need to go into the Channel editor and extend those keyframes.

A screenshot might help if this doesn't solve your issue.

I received a reply from Grant yesterday, but it seems to have been deleted. I did not have any keyframea, but i did have a still image without any handles. Here is what he wrote and what worked for me.

Hi,

Try this.

Select the last node in your ConnectFX node tree. (not the CFX output node).

Right-click and create CFX clip.

Go into the timing view, and offset the start of the CFX clip. Offset it by however many frames you want extend the front of the clip.

Once you have done that double-click on the CFX clip.

In the Basic menu, explode the clip.

When you do this, it should restore everything as it was before BUT it should keep the offset timing you did as a CFX clip.

That should give you the extra head frames without losing your nodes.

Hope this helps!
