2012 Linux moving framestore from SAN to SAN

I am moving my Smoke to a new SAN and was wondering if there was a way to move the framstore over and re-connecting to the new SAN. I can archive everything, but was looking to see if there was a quicker way.

Thanks

Hi Matthew.

The only supported method to do this is to archive your projects.

That being said, if the new SAN mount point, directory structure and permissions are the same as for the old one, you could move the media storage folder over there and Smoke will never know that the underlying hardware has changed. Just make sure to stop stone+wire, wiretap and backburner, before you copy over the folder.

Best regards,

Robert.

Thanks Robert,
That is what I thought. The mount point, directory structure and permissions are different. Archiving away.

Thanks,
Matthew
