curving surfaces

curving surfaces

I'd like to bend and adapt to the surfaces of existing surfaces.
It is a very useful tool for the design of glasses and more!

This is an interesting kind of deformation.  We are investigating deformation now which may allow us to do this with a lattice deformer but I like the single surface concept.

I believe that deform a complex surface on a more simple as in the example of the photo is a very interesting technique.

For example, having to draw a pair of sports sunglasses, it is easier to draw them on the frontal plane and then deforming on a surface that takes into account the curvature of the front view and side ... I do not know if I explained it well!  😉

Warping tools like bend, twist would be the type of tools you are looking for?

even those are very comfortable but I very impressed with this tool

being able to create a surface more simple as the goal of a complex is

greatly simplifies the modeling work

Hi I hope the new bending tool can curve things like the attached screen shot. This is a structure I installed on a ring band surface (about 0.35mm tall from the surface of the ring band). This ring is constructed using Fusion 360 with a lot of workflow which included trimming, changing the shape of a plane, etc.. Then moving the final graphical structure to the surface of the ring. If a tool can do this it will be very good to the designers. Designers have to curve things all the time.
