I used Inventor Fusion to read in the DWG file and converted it to a STEP file format and that allowed it to work.

Thanks for your help but I don't use  Inventor Fusion. Is possible to make the conversion in another program ( program used in civil engineering) or

direct import dwg ( from AutoCad to Flow Design)

Hi

Thanks for letting us know you are seeing this.

The development team has tested this and observed similar behavior on some files generated in AutoCAD 2010 and later. The issue has been logged.

For now, as a workaround I would recommend outputting an STL straight from AutoCAD, ie. File>Export>Other Formats>Lithography (STL). There are lots of ways you could do this but this is likely the fastest.
