This drawing demonstrates the problem I'm having with Direct Distance Entry.
I drew the line at 0,0, then typed
COPY (technically, I did a keyboard shortcut of C)
Picked the line
Hit the Space Bar to end the selection set.
Pick a random point to begin the copy
Type in 8' and a Space bar
That's three characters total
No Snaps, No Grid, No OSnaps, No Polar, nothing on but ORTHO
As you can see on the attached drawing, the new line was created 7'-11
57/64" to the right of the original
Here's the Command Line history:
Command: c
Select objects: 1 found
Select objects:
/Multiple:
Second point of displacement: 8'
Command: dist
Specify first point: _endp of Specify second point: _endp of
Distance = 7'-11 57/64", Angle in XY Plane = 0.00, Angle from XY Plane =
0.00
Delta X = 7'-11 57/64", Delta Y = 0'-0", Delta Z = 0'-0"
Obviously, the Spaces and Mouse clicks don't show.

Inaccurate Distance - Major problem
in the autocad 2002.general ng
Thanks for all the help. I gotta run now, but I'll check again when I get
home.
