Tagging of objects in sub layouts.

Many times I'll break a layout up into sub-layouts.  I'd like the ability to apply some sort of tag to objects that reside in a sub layout from the top level or an upper level layout.  A good example would be adding operation tags - (ie OP 010, 020)

Currently asset tags attach to assets ONLY.  With some of my customers equipment may never become an asset (one off, not re-used elsewhere) and they still need to be tagged.  Perhaps these would have to be a different kind of tag - other than asset tag.

Hey Mike,

It seems that is different tag from asset tag we have now in FDS. I will log the requirement in our backlog. 

By the way, how many users will be benefit from the such tag? Is it only required to add the sort of tag in Inventor? How about in ACAD?1
