Roller Surface Treatment

Roller Surface Treatment

In my company we deal with a lot of large conveyor systems. We use roller and belt conveyors. As of right now I am patterning cylinders in my assets to show rollers but with so many in a model it would be really nice if I could have a surface treatment that looked like rollers without the additional weight of the rollers themselves.

Hi Will,

Are you talking about the lightweight model ?

Could you please shown us a sample of roller conveyor you want ?

Thanks,

Here is an example of a small area. As you can see a lot of our assets are pretty simple since the models are so large.

Hi Will,

Are you meaning that you decal a image(that is looking as roller) on the surface?

Thanks,

-Xuesong

No, I extrude cylinders. I would like it to be a surface treatment so when I
switched to realistic view it would be difficult to tell the difference but
while working with the model, it would be lighter than the approach I am
taking now.

All right. Could you please send me a sample model you created ? I want to test how lighter between the model and your approach.

My email is Xuesong.bai@autodesk.com.
