New spaces in ACAD with FMD 7.1

Issue #1: I've just made the jump from FMD 6.5 to 7.1 (Access) and am using Facility Link with ACAD 2007. I've logged into the database and can click on a previously-defined space and see the current space data. However, when I try to create a new space in any of the three ways, a dialog box pops up and says the drawing is not logged in. When I click to log it in (even though it already seems to be logged in), the correct drawing data is already shown. I click "OK" and try to create the space again, same result.

Am I missing something? Should I be "linking the floor?" (I don't ever recall doing that in 6.5.)

Issue #2: To echo a previous post, our version 7.1 is REALLY slow, too. And there are only three users logged in.

As it turned out, it appears the problem was with having 6.5 and 7.1 on the same PC. Once I deleted 6.5 and reinstalled 7.1, everything worked fine.

Can you expand on "version 7.1 is REALLY slow"? Which application? Doing what? Which version of Access?
