Facility Manager 7.1 and Facility Link 7.1 are tested and compatible with ACAD 2008 and the other 2008 products. The FMDesktop 7.1 products have been announced and should be at subscription customers very soon.

There will not be any patches to FMDesktop 6.5 products.

Mark,

~pause~ So, am I reading this as that the 7.0 products aren't
technically compatible with 2008 products?

That's technically correct. There are some cases where Facility Link 7 will work correctly with some of the 2008 products, but there are other configurations that will not work. With regard to Facility Manager 7, DWF files created in the vertical 2008 products (ie, ACAD Architecture or the Revit products) will not be recognized by Facility Manager DWF Import.

The upgrade from 7 to 7.1 is painless.

And I also should have mentioned that in 7.1, the DWF Import command now recognizes equipment. You can selectively import equipment and related metadata from the design applications. I think this is relevant to some of the ideas you've had about tracking various pieces of equipment.

that doesn't really help me at all, and explains my dwf publishing
problems.
