very nice CAFM article in this month's AUGI HotNews...
http://www.augi.com/publications/hotnews.asp?id=1476
I definitely identified with this article on how hard it is to find
information about FM/CAFM and applaud his dedication to sharing
information. There are certain things about our industry that make it
competitive, so I appreciate any good information being shared.
This is his first article in what will evidently become a regular column
and he does a good definition and explanation of what FM is and consists of.
He dips into plining (and revit and adt/aca space boundaries) and
explains how that information is used and possibly linked to cafm
software, and what standards (guidelines) can be applied.
One of the best parts is that he offers references on where he found his
information. fabulous.
the author josrios posts on the FM forums here, too... check the
FMDesktop forum for some good ones. he ends the article with a preview
of what he's planning next and an open invitation to request specific
topics to be covered in the future.
