FBX Review and Revit 2014/Inventor 2014

Hello,

We are looking for a nice way to allow customers to review 3D shaded/textured models produced from Revit 2014 and Inventor 2014. I tested the Revit 2014 Sample Architectural model and exported out to a FBX file and then opened it with FBX Review (on Windows 😎 however entire model was shades or grey and no textures?  Any ideas?

FBX Review looks great , it would really impress many of my customers if this tool can be used by Revit and Inventor users in the Builduing  and Interior design market.

Cheers

Hans

Materials are converted to grey default material because FBX Review does not use the large material library that Revit and other architecture software rely upon. We want to keep the size of FBX Review pretty small so that's not an option right now.

However, perhaps in the future we could provide a DLL that FBX Review could load at launch to support such materials. In the meanwhile, what you could do is re-assign materials so that they don't look grey in FBX Review (using standard materials, or better, the AutodeskUberShader found in Maya 2014 SP1).
