hi there..
im a masters student and doing thesis on daylight performance of a jaali in context of ahmedabd. (jaali as in a stone perforated latticed screen [islamic] ) ..
im very new to the software and would like valuable suggestions from all so as to get my results and how to go about it more...
i need info on how to model a jaali... and also how to set parameters for a wall.... ex. wall thickness...and material...
and also tutorials would be helpful....

I suppose the best would be to build your model in sketch up, save it as an OBJ file (Sketch Up pro required) and then take it to Ecotect. If you do not have Sketch Up pro just download it and do it while being a trial.
Also you should NOT use the Ecotect daylight simulation, but choose the option of exporting to Radiance. Please check out the tutorials on this on the link above.
