Hi Benlion,

There could be a few things that bring this window up.

What I would do first is go to your LMTOOLS (under your Autodesk Network License Manager folder) ans try to re-read your license file.  Sometimes the server service does not start properly.

 LMTOOLS.jpg

Then try to perform a Status Enquiry under the Server Status tab.  You might have to stop and restart the server a few times under the Start/Stop/Reread tab.

Take note of what the status message will tell you and post here if it still fails.

Let me know if this method works for you or not, if yes please accept as a solution so that others can benefit from this information.

Cheers,

Hi PENNETIER:

Thank you for your help, but I didn't find the LMTOOLS  ,and I use the stand alone license ,so there is no folder named Network  License Manager. If you have another way to solve it out ,please let me known. Thank you  so much !

Hi Benlion,

That is strange, as you should still have the license manager regardless you are stand alone or not, or so I thought.

I am stand alone as well and have to use the Autodesk license manager to read my license file.  Where is your license file located?

Mine is located in the same folder as the LMTOOLS > Program Files > Autodesk Network License Manager.

Did your version work on your machine before?  Did the problem just start o occur?

In the meantime, you might try another trick that works once in a while with this issue:

Go to your Program Data folder (you might have to ask Windows to show you all your hidden folders) > navigate to Autodesk > Adlm

Rename the CascadeInfo.cas to CascadeInfo.cas.old.  once Ecotect restart, it will recreate a new CascadeInfo.cas file.  Sometimes, this trick works.

Let me know; also, if you can read the error code number you get from Ecotect just before the image you sent, that might be helpful to determine what is going on.

Cheers,

Hi ,PENNETIER
Thanks for your help ,I solved it in another way .Unstall the AutoAD 2012 , and clean all the files related Autodesk in drive C ,and delete all the key or value in register editor . Then reinstall the Ecotect ,and it works . Maybe the reason of the error is I cracked the license file useing the keygen tools . Anyway, thanks for your help !

I am having this issue with Revit. Ecotect has been working fine up until now. The only change I have made to my system has been installing AutodeskAutoCad 2015. I am a licenced student so have rights to use these products. Any suggestions about what I can do to fix this problem? I have already tried the posted suggestions, and am looking for someone who has a potential solution. My licence is a standalone licence. Cheers.

Hi j1.cullen,

Are you having an issue with Revit or Ecotect licensing?

Yes I am. Am not sure what has changed. It has been working fine. I have installed AutoCad though. Not sure if there is an issue there.

Hi j1.cullen,

Is this a Revit licensing issue OR an Ecotect licensing issue OR both?

That is not clear from your posts.

Are you receiving the same error message as posted in the first post of this thread?

Cheers,

Just ecotect. It shows up the unable to license on start and will not allow you to go onto the license settings. AutoCad and other autodesk apps are working fine.

Hi j1.cullen,

Are you using Ecotect 2011?

Do you receive any other error message aside from the Error to Initialize?

I gather from your first post that you have already tried un-installing AutoCAD and all its components, then re-installing Ecotect?

Have you tried the method of deleting the cascadeinfo file as outlined in a post above?

Go to your Program Data folder (you might have to ask Windows to show you all your hidden folders) > navigate to Autodesk > Adlm

Rename the CascadeInfo.cas to CascadeInfo.cas.old.  once Ecotect restart, it will recreate a new CascadeInfo.cas file.  Sometimes, this trick works.

Do you have a license manager installed?  I would suspect not if you have a stand-alone license.

Also, have you tried disabling your Windows firewall and see if that works then?  If it does, then it means your firewall is keeping the licensing service to communicate with the server.

I am running out of ideas; this is puzzling.
