Doubt regarding thermal analysis

hi,

i have some doubts regarding the calculations performed by thermal analysis for monthly discomfort loads. 

Do the thermal analysis consider - the shadow effect. For eg. if a room is not exposed to the sun at all, will it take this thing into consideration while calculating the thermal discomfort hours. 

Is it a normal heat conduction analysis only in which it considers - the wall properties and outside temperature properties.

And when i opt for the calculation of all thermal zones then is it producing the maximum discomfort hours by summing up the discomfort hours or extracting the common discomfort hours and adding the rest discomfort hours to it.

Apart from this, can u suggest me any other option in which i can check the efficiency of bulding getting increased or decreased by performing some modifications?
