Rotate tag

I have a door in plan view with visibility, flip, rotate, alignment and tag attributes. It all works well except when i rotate it, the text inside the tag rotates as well. I want the text to remain horizontal and read left to right while it rotates. I searched here for an answer but it's got me £@*%ed. It works when i flip it straight up and down. If anyone can let me in on the secret, i'd appreciate it.

This is one of the most common uses of chained actions.

1. Add a point parameter at the insertion point of your attribute. Set its
grips to 0 and chained actions to yes.
2. Add a move action to the point parameter with the attribute as the
selection set.
3. Add the point parameter ONLY (not the attribute, not the action) to your
rotate action's selection set.

I'm trying exactly what you said and that doesn't work me.

It is the same procedure for a text in the dynamic block? Smiley Sad

The only way I found to have my text horizontal.

I made an angular dimension removing lines of dimensions.

But it's good only for 1 side of a circle on the other side I have to do another angular dim.

And play with visibility.

Post your Block please.

It is likely a piece of something like the Chaining that is missing.

What Text do you want to keep Horizontal and what Rotation Action is it tied to?

Hey,

I have a similar problem. I have a block with an attribute that must be mirrored, and the text should stay readable. When I lock the position of the attribute it won't mirror. And adding a point parameter doesn't work as well.

Thanks for helping!

Hi, you have to explain better what you want to do, your block contains geometry but 0 dynamic objects.

Using  a chained point parameter with a move action assigned to the attribute and then flip the point parameter but not the text works for a fact.

If it doesn't work for you, try Attsync on your attribute after block has been saved.

Usually when you save a block that is already referenced in a drawing an Attsync command is required for the attributes to update aswell...

Thanks Adam for your help!

Here is my block, with the flip action.
I Added a point parameter, set chain actions to yes, number of grips to 0.
Then I added the flip action including the point parameter (and not the
attribute). It still doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

Problem solved:

  1. add an chained point parameter. Put it on the right spot, maybe you must experiment a bit...
  2. lock position of the attribute(s)
  3. add the flip paramenter
  4. add flip action, including the point parameter and the attribute
  5. done
