I have a dynamic block in a drawing ( I did not create this block) which has a huge rectangle around it which only shows up when the block is selected. I go in the block editor and it doesn't show up. I have also seen this in an ordinary block. They only way i found to remove this is to explode the block, but i'm trying to avoid that. Has anybody else come across this, and/or knows how to get rid of it. I've attached a DWG with the block in question (select the block and zoom out). I'm using Autocad Architecture 2012.
Thanks,
Dominic

The Block is Annotative.
Open the Block in the BE
From the Properties Window change Annotative to No.
Save and close the BE.
Delete the Block in Model space then then Insert again.
Zoom, Extents and you should be good.

Thanks Charles!
It did remove it, just time consuming when having to replace multiple blocks.
Do you know what that rectangle was?

Annotative is a function introduced in Autocad 2008, you can read about it here.
Thanks Adam but I do know about annotations.
I've shown this problem to someone at my office several days ago and he actually found the right solution. The rectangle around the block is actually an Xclip boundary. I don't know much about xclip. So all i had to do is type xclip, select block and choose the delete option and rectangle is gone.
Thanks anyways for taking the time to look at my problem.
Good pickup on that. I do not use XCLIP's so did not know of this. Thanks for the follow up.

regarding the xclip-rectangle this is controlled by the xclipframe - variable, set it to 0 and the rectangle is gone, set it to 1 or 2 its visible and plots/doesn't plot.
xclip also works for xrefs, its a good way to "clip away" parts of a block/xref you do not need in a certain instance.
