Dynamic Blocks can't be counted with BCOUNT? Or, replaced using "blockreplace"?

Anybody know why?

Thanks!

The basic rules of blocks still apply to dynamic blocks, namely that two different blocks can not have the same name. When a dynamic block is changed in any way AutoCAD gives it an anonymous name. The original block name is stored as the "effective" name.

So, if I can't rename the anonymous name, what is the workaround?

You have to make a custom program such as vlisp that will do what you want by working with the effective name instead of the block name.
You may be able to find something in the customization group.

You can count them using the data extraction under tools. I believe the
reason why to be because you can count not only how many blocks occur but
filter them by parameters. For example, how many of say block 1 are
currently in a particular vis state. Hope it helps.
