Dual Attribute block?

Ok, what I want.. a DB with 2 VS's:
VS1 - has 2 attributes (tags "detail-1" and "drawing")
VS2 - has 1 attribute (tag "detail-2")

How (if possible) can I set up the block so that if VS2 is active, the
tags from VS1 "go away".. I'm talking about in the attribute editor as
well as visually. (same goes for if VS1 is active)

Anyone?

You can easily have visibility states for the two attributes.
Having them on/off in the attribute editor.....dunno 'bout that one.

Yes, you can do that.

The trick is to make sure that the attributes positions are LOCKED. I
have no idea why, but it works.

Now, you may wish to be able to move the attributes around in the
block by grip editing. A workaround to this is to include a move
parameter/action set to simulate this.

I've attached an example (a hospital wall corner guard)

cheers

Is it possible for the attributes to automatically shift position/rotation when the different visibility states are selected?

For example, a titleblock that changes its appearance using visibility states would require the attributes to move to new locations and possibly rotate.

Dunno about that.

I'm guessing that you'd have to get into chained parameters (i.e. one
parameter that depends on the value of another).

That's something I'll have to look into one day, but probably not this
afternoon!

Good luck

Let Lookup parameters stand in for rgw VS popups, then you can control move and/or rotate actions to move the attributes to the various layouts you might need. Our title blocks are now set up to do this and work very efficiently.

Could you post a sample please?

Here is an example of what he's talking about.

I used it to move text when changing light fixtures.

It takes some experimenting to see how it really works, but once it clicks, you'll realize how many blocks you can use this on.

Ask if you can't figure out how it works.

I have tried to do the same thing with my attributes locked and they still
appear. Weird. I bet if I created the block from scratch in a different
order it would work.
