Dynamic blocks, is it possible to have the option to choose various radii shapes in a dynamic block? an Example of what i am trying to do is a pedestrian refuge where the radius of the ends can vary between 0.6m and 1.2m?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Colin
This can certainly be done.
If the variations are relatively few, visibility states might be your best bet.
But I think you will have better success using constraints and a look-up table.
A while back I messed with the default block for one of the I-beams that comes with AutoCAD. If memory serves, it had a sample size of each of the popular depths of beam. I created a dynamic AutoCAD "family" of the entire line of W8s. I believe I had the section outline as a closed polyline, with constraints maintaining the shapes (including radii tangent to the flanges and webs). I added the linear move action parameter to define the various dimensions found in the steel maual, and I know I had one governing the radii too. All of this went into a block properties table.
Okay now I even lost myself lol. But the point is, it can be done!
