Hi. So I'm trying to make a dynamic bolt that has a nut on it that can move back and forth but is constrained to the max distance set by the bolt length. I want one line type between the head of the bolt and a different line type between the end of the bolt and the nut.
Currently if I take my nut past the end of the bolt, the lines are all messed up?
Thoughts?
I'm new to dynamic blocks but liking them. I hope my wish isn't greater then something possible.

Also looking at the properties you specify the "Grip" distance. How do we streach this bolt, i.e. change the grip dimension?
Thanks - DJC
Take a look at this site to start:

I'll look for others.

Insert the the block into a drawing file (.dwg). I uploaded the block instead of putting it in a drawing first. My appologies.

On screen I see the definitions of dimension. Thinking this can be modified for my desired bolt diameter and grip thickness... can't understand how to change these elements.
This was a simple structural bolt 3/4" A325 I did as an example, with two dynamic grips. You can get more creative and put parameters and constraints to change the size. You may just want to create a block for each size diameter that you use, as a starting point. (Example: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", and 1" diameters). Then work from there.
