Attributes not working in visibility states of dynamic block

I'm new to dynamic blocks.  In my first attempt to create a simple dynamic block with various visibility states in which each would have it's own attribute, the only attribute that works is the attribute in the first visibility state listed.  I have read all the postings I could find here in the group on this subject and have made the following changes suggested here to the block:

1. All attributes have distinct tags and prompts. (I even erased all the originial attributes and created new with original tags.)

2. All attributes are locked in position.

3. I REGEN after selecting a different visibility state.

None of these changes has had any effect.  Still, then only attribute that opens an attribute edit dialogue box is the "W" attribute in the first visibility state listed.  Any help would be appreciated.  I have attached the block in question.

Thanks,

Have you run ATTSYNC on the Block after you change the Attribs?

No, I had not. That did the trick. They are now working properly.

Thank you, Charles.

Hi,

There don't appear to be any Values in the rest of the attributes.

Cheers,

Volker

Hi Charles,

I am having the exact same issue, i have created a dynamic block with attributes on different visibility states within the block. When i go to switch the visibility it does not change the attributes. It remains the two attributes that are on the first visibility state.

I have tried and ATTSYNC but still did not work for me. (unless i have used it incorrectly?)

I have attached the dwg so you can see for your self.

** Figured it out. for future reference make sure that the attribues are checked "yes" for lock position!

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Yes, ATTRIB's need to be Locked in a Dynamic Block to function properly. For newly created Attribs this is done by default but must be set to Locked for an older existing Block where Dynamic Actions are going to be applied.

Set the Attribs to Locked before adding Dynamic Actons or you may have to delete them and start over.

Just curious. I used attsync to update the block after I added an attribute in the block. When I changed the value of the new attribute and depress "apply" and "ok", it changes other attributes. I am not sure what the problem is.

The only thing I found to beat this completely random issue of Atttributes not showing up in certain visibilities is setting the property of the attributes "constant" to "yes". I had visibilities 6 through 9 just randomly not appear. This is the only way I could fix it .

Locking the attributes and then using the ATTSYNC command after closing the block allowed them to function properly.  Thanks everyone!
