Alignment Parameter Flips Attribute Text

The problem is pretty obvious.

I have a dynamic block. It has an alignment parameter. And attributes.
The alignment grip flips the attribute text. 😞

I couldnt find a solution to it.

I am attaching a file in hopes to find a solution to this.

(in the file, Just hold the alignment grip of the box block and try to align from the other side of the lineer rectangle. The attribute text flips. )

probably the alignment grip just rotates the block. So I need to find a way to counter rotate the attribute?

Maybe you can try to edit mirrtext variable to 1

mirrtext won't affect the text in the desired way.  I don't know any way to keep the text alignment while using an alignment grip.  There isn't any way that I know of to link anything to an alignment grip.  It doesn't even have an action associated.  The closest I could come to the desired effect is to add a rotate parameter/action to the box and a chained point/move to the text.

Mirrtext has no effect because alignment grip doesnt mirror things I believe. It has a different function.

did you succeed in that counter rotation action?  I tried constraints in vain.

I created a modular wall block that uses a letter to designate the wall style utilizing the visibility attribute. I use the alignment attribute to snap the walls into various configurations. To get the text to rotate, I did not find a way for this to rotate with the ‘align’ parameter; I found the following ‘work around’. I select the twisted attribute and rotate and move it individually. If I have Ortho ‘on’ the attribute rotates and aligns at the 90° no matter where it started. I can also move the attribute around as needed. I do have to re-rotate if I re-align the wall but for me that’s ok, this is better I had before.

With the visibility I can use the ‘Table’ to get a count of each type of wall I have selected.

Block Name - Wall VIS:       Dynamic

Parameter- Alignment (on each 4” end of the wall)

Parameter- Visibility

  • BLANK
  • BLANK F
  • A
  • B
  • C
  • D
  • E
  • J
  • K
  • L
  • F

Parameter (attach to center of attribute)

- Point

- Rotate

Action –  Move – Select ‘Point’ Parameter

When prompted to select objects, select attribute and ‘rotation’ parameter

                  Rotate – Select ‘Rotate’ Parameter

When prompted to select objects, select the attribute and ‘point’ Standard Grip

The Alignment Parameter works much much like an auto-rotate.

This Parameter will rotate all entities in the block. Ergo; there is no solution directly thru this Paramter.

Work arounds as noted would be the only way.
