How can you measure angles?

I just got autocad 2000 and I just want to
draw simple things like a triangle and be
able to see the angles. It shows me only
0, 90,180,270 degree angles. How can
measure the angles? I am new to autocad. Is
there anyway or any where to show step by
step how to do it? Any help will be
appreciated.

There are several books on using Autocad (search the Internet), but your
best bet is to attend a class in Beginning Autocad at a community
college. There is a huge amount of information they can teach you in
using CAD.

It was not my intention to be rude, but to teach a person how to make
triangles, rectangles, circles, etc., requires more than a short message.
You have to be aware of absolute and relative coordinate systems, the use of
orthogonal drawing and many, many other items.

As Walt pointed out in his reply, you are simply asking too much for this
newsgroup to answer in one message. Your question indicates a serious need
for a lot of information in addition to just how to draw an angle.

I would suggest that you call your reseller and find out when they will have
the next class in a beginning AutoCAD class. The advantage of this over a
community college class is that the reseller class will be about 3 days and
about $800, and the community college class will be about 11 weeks and
considerably less in cost.

It won't matter much to you if you have to take a class in AutoCAD 2004 or
2002, because the basic fundamentals you need are essentially the same in
all versions of AutoCAD.

Also, there are many books available for under $50.00 that will enable you
to draw in AutoCAD.

My own preference is George Omura's Mastering AutoCAD 2000, but any of them
will be helpful.

Might be cheaper to buy a calculator and learn how to use that. Autocad is
one of the bigger calculators you can get to just work out angles. My
daughter at school doesn't need autocad to work out all different angles for
different shapes. Excel could do it with a little programming.

type dimangular, hit return and then pick both lines.

You can also pick lines and type 'ls' and hit enter to see their angle in
the x-y plane, but you'd need to use a calculator to find the angle between
lines.

If it is not precise enough, go to format/units in the menu and specify a
precision, or change the precision in your dimstyle if you are using
dimangular.

Why don't you try going through some of the tutorials. They might be helpful to you. They are exhaustive but useful non-the less to the amature.
