Drawing view scale

the drawing view gets its scale from the "scalelist" which is no problem.

However if there are xrefs in the drawing the drawing view wants to use all the xref scales as well.

This is a bit annoying when the xrefs have hundreds of random scales in "their" lists.

Is there a way to hide the xref scales?

-scalelistedit command.  later releases handle this for you in a better manner.

The scalelistedit only does the scales in the current drawing. my problem is the xref files especially from random sources with 100's of stupid scale factors? it is not always convenient to edit these xref files.

Do you not have a "Hide Xref Scales" option when expanding the Scale List at the bottom right?  If not, what version of AutoCAD are you using?

Ok this is even more crazy, I have gone through all the xrefs and none of them have the random scale factors in their scale lists? But it’s like there is some legacy where these scales appear as xref scales, even though they have no xrefs?

Yes that is on the annotative scale list and is switched on! but the "drawing view" scale list is independent.

ok That may have solved it Nestly2, switch to show xref scales then use scalelistedit to delete teh unwanted scales.

Thanks.

Depending on  your release there may be a fix waiting for you, like this one for 2010
