Opening DWG files in Design Review requires latest version of free DWG TrueView

Our non-CAD users used to search text in DWG using Autodesk Design Review.

But nowadays ADR refuses to open DWG with message "Opening DWG files in Design Review requires the latest version of the free DWG TrueView
program be installed".

I'm a CADmanager thus have a bit of Autodesk software installed on my PC:

  • Autodesk Design Review 2013
  • AutoCAD 2014
  • DWG TrueView 2015
  • Inventor 2014
  • Vault Explorer 2014
  • Vault Explorer 2015 etc...

DWG extension is associated with DWG TrueView 2015.

I can reproduce the issue by attempt to open DWG with ADR:

ADR_refuses_to_openDWG.png

"Learn more" button leads to page http://www.autodesk.com/products/dwg/viewers  which IMHO doesn't explain the root of problem.

Any ideas on how to solve the issue?

PS: Pity there is no button "escalate to salesforce" in ADR forum.

ADR is version 2013.
ADR development stopped in 2012.
DTV perobably needs to be the older 2013 version and not the newer 2015 version to work. Or train your users to open the files in DTV2015 first, plot to DWF, then open in ADR2013.

ADR2013 is broken and no one has a fix yet.

Thank for your answer.

Attempt to apply workaroud by modifying registry changed things a bit.

Now I'm getting message "The current installation of DWG TrueView has been modified. Please reinstall the latest version of DWG TrueView to open DWG files in Design Review."

BTW, Isn't doubled backslash  "\\" in location value should be single backslahes "\"? (I've tried both with the same negative result)
