We're taking the plunge and moving into the world of VDI. A snag we've hit is printing DWF files. On average each of our sheets spools 5MB to the printer when printing. Our average set contains between 60 and 80 sheets. To print a single plan we're spooling 300 to 400MB over an internet connection. Considering that only a portion of the pipeline is dedicated to print jobs, this becomes a big problem. We've tried formats other than DWF, PDF and XPS, but they spool even more data to the printers. Our current work around is to print sheets individually as needed or printing entire sets during lunch breaks.

Last I would like to know what kind of geometry data are mainly in your sheets, gradient geometries, raster data or normal geometry data. What paper size are you mainly using?
