User Defined Field

Hi All,

I am new to AutoCAD and need you help with some problem.

I have got a dwg drawing with a custom property. I use VBA to update this everytime the drawing is opened and it works ok. But we do not have enough license of AutoCAD so I am trying to find another way to open the drawing. I am thinking use TrueView but the custom property is not updated. I found the user defined field in Trueview. So can anyone please let me know is ther a way to update the value automatically or it has to be changed manually when the drawing is plotted/
