Customizing VVE

Can Volo View Express be customized? For example, I would like to only have the open and print icons. Can I modify the toolbar? Also, with the right click menu, I would like to have open, zoom extents and print as the options. We are going to be using VVE to print out process sheets from the shop instead of coming into the office. However, I don't want to give them anything that they can get confused easily with. Thanx for any input.

Hi,

Even i am interested to know how this can be done? One of our
customers wants to disable the print option so that user will not be able to
print the dwf drawings provided. Is there any way this can be done? We are
really looking for this to know as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Shirish

You could try to create your own viewer with VB using the avviewx.dll
control included with VVE. I have done that and it works quite well.

Hope this helps

Does the control in VB bring up all the current VVE options? Or, did you have to add them yourself. It'd be great if you would send me your .VBP and associated files.
We have need to disable the SEND FILE option on the File menu.
Thanks!

Dear Redman,

I think you're talking about the full VV, not the express version because
VVE does not have a Send File option. And the options VB brings up to the
user depends on the implementation by the programmer. Maybe i didn't
understand what you whish to make...

When used as an activex control with VB, the VVE does not show the menu or
toolbar that you see in the VVE stand-alone. The only thing the user gets is
the right-click pop-up menu and it doesn't include the Send option.

Also, to jwk, my version of VVE (129) does include an email File > Send menu
item in the stand-alone VVE implementation.
