i have a drawing set of 200 dwgs. it takes me about 45 minutes to plot off the set manually by going into each dwgs and plotting off multiple layouts (each plot file approx 300k).
i heard about the dwf ability in autocad, (im using lt2004). i downloaded latest (10 dec 03) dwf program from autodesk site. generates dwf great.
but when i have complied the set of 200 dwg to 1 dwf (approx 16mb in size) the plots are really slow - the 300k plot file of a std dwg in the set blows up to approx 30mb. i tried plotting off the first 10 pages of the set - 45 minutes later it was still trying to generate the plot file - (it was peaking out at 200mb). i cancelled this, and tried to plot off 1 dwf - it took approx 2 minutes to generate plot file (manually it takes approx 5 seconds).
is it a common problem for the plots to take forever with dwf or does anyone know of a workround to fix this?
running 2.4 p4 with 1gb ram.
