If you are providing a deployment perhaps you have the ability to set the
user registry's with this deployments. The AutoUpdate works off a few keys
found in hkey_local_machine\software\autodesk\dwf viewer\settings\autoupdate
The keys are self explanatory

If we are going to continue down this DWF path that Autodesk has set out on,
it is an absolute necessity that we are guaranteed some stability.
Here's a scenario (one that we've personally experienced...):
1) Product is developed and tested with the DWF Viewer
2) Product works flawlessly
3) Product is deployed
4) User launches DWF Viewer and is notified that there is a newer version
available, would you like to update?
5) Of course they would like to update, newer means better, right?
No way. I've been using this product for the past few years - and my
experience is that of a sine wave. It works great / it's full of bugs / it
works great / it works like crap again...
We are being forced into programatically watching over the version installed
on client machines and taking action if necessary. Would you please just
TURN OFF the auto-update? It serves no purpose other than installing an
inferior product.
Very frustrated ~ jp
