Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Writing 0x01c4 Exception at 84e42dh

We're using DWG TrueView 2.0.0.161.

On of our users, gets all of an sudden, the following error:

"Fatal Error: Unhandled Access Violation Writing 0x01c4 Exception at 84e42dh"

This happens when he wants to view any AutoCAD drawing on his system. Other users using DWG TrueView aren't affected.

A reinstallation of DWG TrueView didn't solve the problem.

Who has an idea what might be the problem.

I found another thread on this board, where two people mention the exactly same error:

I am sorry one of your users is having problems. Unfortunately the crash
location (i.e. 84e42dh) does not help us much. Each computer is different.
It's like knowing that your address is "123 Elm Street" but not knowing what
city or state you live in. You should have this user try Autodesk DWG
TrueView 2007. It has many defect corrections from the previous version.

Scott, thanks for your reply.
I'm aware that the address in an error message doesn't tell much. But in this case the address is the same for each drawing. Even more unique, other member on this board have the same error, with the same addressed. See the link in my previous post to another thread.
I think best solution will be installing the 2007 version. But, is this one stable already?

Yes. AutoCAD 2007 is more stable than its previous versions.

While the statement below is true, I meant to say that DWG TrueView 2007 is
more stable than its previous versions.

PROBLEM SOLVED !!!

This is what is did:

1) Uninstall Autodesk DWG TrueView.

2) Remove the directory (including files and subdirectories):

C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Autodesk\DWG TrueView 2

C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\DWG TrueView 2

C:\Program Files\VoloView

3) Start the Registry Editor. Remove the Branches:

\\HKLM\SOFTWARE\Autodesk

\\HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders

and all other branches and keys with the text "Autodesk".

4) Reboot system.

5) Reinstall the application. It works again.

Good to hear. I guess this can be the prescribed remedy for the 84e42dh
crash.

I am going to try your solution for my FATAL ERROR problem (See Attached).
But I do not know what the Registry Editor is. Can you please direct me?

Thank you!
