Embed and silent install

Is it possible to have the viewer embedded on an intranet and have the
viewer silently installed?

Take a look at the trial version of SmartPurger (now for AutoCAD 2004) or
download some freeware at www.jtbworld.com

Yes, if your html object tag "codebase" parameter points to an intranet URL
and your clients IE security settings for "Local intranet" is set to
"enable" run/downloading of signed ActiveX controls.

Peter,
I tried that but still got to manually answer on the installation
quiestions.
I would like it to act like "ExpressViewerSetup.exe /q"

AEV 3.1.0.78

Jimmy,

It appears that I was incorrect in that regard. It's not possible to
suppress the installer dialog when using cab file installation.

Peter,
Thanks for your response. I'll push the installation to all users before
instead.
But it would be nice if it was possible to do what you thought was possible.

Yes, but that would be a security violation. A new control would be
installed on the user's system without his knowledge. CAB files don't work
that way. You visit an URL, not expecting an install, and then the object
tag kicks one off for you. You need to know that you are installing
software.

I guess you're right. But if the ActiveX control is signed and the security
setting for the location of the CAD file on an intranet is set to be safe it
would be nice to have it silently installed.
