EXPRESS VIEWER W98 PROBLEM!

Can someone confirm the following:

Have EV already installed.

Go to:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?id=3023925&siteID=123112

More the slider bar up and down. Do you get strange results in the top left of the screen?

Although Express Viewer is officially supported on
Win98 many people have reported problems with it.

Just search for the words 'express viewer 98' on
href="http://discussion.autodesk.com">http://discussion.autodesk.com

You are not alone....

I noticed that on the VE build on the page is stated as being Version:
3.0.0.55. This is an old version.

An old version, how do you mean?

Isn't the version whatever is installed on the individuals PC. When I right-click and select About from this page it says the version is: 3.1.0.78.

Bob, the viewer version you're seeing is the one on your machine. You have
an old viewer.

The information on the web page link says:

Estimated download time: 8 min. 12sec. @ 56K modem
Build Version: 3.0.0.55
Platform: Windows 98/2000/NT/XP
Browser: Internet Explorer 5.01+
File size: 2.15MB
Language: English
Last Updated: 11/22/02

The second line references an older build.

I am assuming that when the actual update of EV is 3.1.0.78 ??

Autodesk, maybe you could actually answer the original question! Surely someone at support / developement has Win98 that they can confirm the "Bug" posted.

Or has this actually been tested on W98??

My guess is that it has not been tested on Windows
98. They seem to be moving away from it.

We've tested this on Win98 and have confirmed the
bug.  We are working at trying to solve it for the next AEV service
pack.  We intend to continue supporting Win98.

The primary issue with the Win98 problems is that
it's so hard to debug the code.  We cannot directly develop in Win98 and
thus have to perform 'remote debugging' into that OS in order to debug.
It's a hairy mess and often times we are unable to repro the problem.
However, for this particular issue, we are in the process of narrowing down the
source of the problem.

Thanks! This is welcome news. Windows 98 is not
dead yet. It's big in Japan.

By my metrics I see that Windows *95* is big in
Japan.

Windows 98 is big Worldwide, though not with people
who use CAD design tools.
