Dwf TTF fonts

If you create a drawing with TTF fonts that
have a width factor or a Z value, they seem
to get exploded into a zillion points and
drastically balloon the dwf file.

Any word on an upcoming fix?

"Path text", i.e., text which is non-orthographic or which is distorted by a
width or any other transform which Windows doesn't know how to draw with TT
fonts, is tessellated on the way into the DWF file, by design.

Bummer. I guess that's why the rotated TT font text in my title blocks
isn't rotated in my DWF files 😞

The text should appear as rotated. Instead of the string appearing in the
file "ABC" with an applied rotation, geometry to represent a rotated "ABC"
string appear instead. SO you should see the right picture, but the file
will be bigger than if this text was NOT rotated.

Rotated text that's not stretched or scaled should be fine. You'd have to
send me the errant DWF to be sure, but you might have a bug. What authoring
tool / version produced the DWF?

Hi Jeffrey,
I'm using the latest productivity and presentation extension on ADT3.3.
Type PUBLISH at the command line and rock-n-roll 🙂 I've put a sample DWF
in Customer Files with the same title as this thread. Thanks for taking a
look.

I cracked open the geometry and the font definition doesn't specify any
rotation. You should post this issue to the appropriate ADT newsgroup.
This looks like a publishing problem, not a viewing problem.

I imagine that they'd just send me back here 🙂 It's not that big of a
deal. It plots just fine to my printers, so I've got good hard copies. The
DWF's are just to give viewing and convenience plotting capabilities to the
non CAD operators in the office and they don't need a drawing title block to
tell them where their paychecks come from. Besides, this is a legacy title
block that we are no longer using. Thanks again.
