Catching events

Any examples for catching events within a C++ application? It's not quite
straight-forward like it used to be in Whip since the IAdPageViewerEvents
are separated from the base IAdViewer which is the one used for the
window.
Also, is it possible to not require a Ctrl-Click to do Hyperlinks? The old
Whip system used just a single click. If not, can it be emulated by
handling OnMouseMove and/or OnLButtonDown?
If the OnShowProgressMeter is handled, does that status bar still show up
when loading documents?
