FxTree defaults to just two threads

If you have a quad or eight core machines, for a free speed-up turn up the number of threads for the fxtree.

Go in File->User Preference -> Compositing and change "Maximum Multi-Processing". This number will automatically be clamped to the numbers of maximum CPUs on your machine, so you can set it as high as you want.
