I've imported some planes (to be used for hair) into Mudbox that I want to tweak and move around, but some of the planes aren't displaying. As you can see in the Maya screenshot, the face normals for the hair are all correctly pointing outwards and I deleted history as well. I've tried to import those hair planes separately as well. In Mudbox, the faces are only visible from the opposite angle, opposite of where the face normals are pointing in Maya. How can I get Mudbox to display these faces correctly?

looks like those faces are inverted...
maya is able to show faces in the wrong direction...
freeze the transforms and delete the histoy...
take a look into the atribute spread sheet and turn off "opposite"...
window --> general editors --> attribute spread sheet --> render --> opposite
