Dean you could request a login change and go back to your name and have a green label...
Though over 18,000 posts in less than two years - You need to sleep sometime....
Ouch, salt in the nntp wound. Any of the userIDs prefixed with an asterisk are nntp "handles". When setting up the recognition tools the system doesn't differentiate.
I'm still trying to figure out if there's anyway for us to ever merge some of these "lost" accounts (at least when it comes to the ranking system), but I'm not sure yet. It affects a small group of very active users that I've already been able to identify anyways as huge contributors, like Dean and JD Mather for example, so I know who the affected users are. Right now, I'm still not sure if it can be done but I'll keep researching!
As for who gets labels and who doesn't - it's just about everyone. It helps me track progression and improvement, and the labels group everyone into categories of activity and contribution. It all makes sense in the end from a mathematical aspect. Trying to build in the social aspect is the hard part. For example, the reason one of you signs in everyday is very different than why a user with 0 posts signs in once a week.
Again, thanks for all your feedback. I feel very lucky to have such honest and forward users in this community!
As much as you are dismissing the labels you do seem to lament the low (sub 10,000) posts that are currently contributed to you.
BTW - What is after Sage? Selfless? Obsessed? Overseer?
I offered a couple of sugestions earlier in this thread I believe
Credit is simple and factual: flighty labels, color highlights and avatars simply add unnecessary eye candy where none is needed. Just look at how 'busy' the screen is the AUGI / CADTutor forums where I hope this place is not headed towards.
