I am using AutoCAD 2012 (1 seat) in My PC.Due to Motherboard issue, I decided to transfer AutoCAD to another PC.For that, tried to PLU facility. But, getting error message is that serial No. not valid. Then I contacted Autodesk customer care & based on the request code, they provided the activation key.
My Question is that.
1) How many times I can activate AutoCAD (1 seat)? ( If my PC failed to work later ,then need to transfer & activate AutoCAD in another PC)
2) Why PLU facility not working?
A seat of Serial Number can be activated online at least twice. Per Policy, if one owns a Standalone License, it can be activated and installed twice to 2 different machines provided that you are not using the software concurrently.
With regard to PLU errors, there's a lot contributors for that and the resolution varies on the error message encountered. You can refer to this link for some errors encountered by other users and the troubleshooting steps done.
Since you mentioned 2012 Activation and you receive the Activation Code from us, I am making an assumption here that you have an Active Subscription as Previous Version is a Subscription benefit.
Just to be clear that we are on the same page, you have already activated 2012 thru us and you transferred this same License to another PC and re-activated? If so, then it would count as 2 activations.
Any activations made manually by us will count towards you automatic activation limit.
Please, note that once the limit is reached you can still contact us for manual activations if necessary.
