I just witnessed where this Accept as Solution will cause
more harm than good. Where someone is having a hard
time understanding the answer and an Accept as
Solution appears for no other reason than to make the
person even more frustrated trying to understand the
answer. I seen it happen and that's why I don't think
whoever is putting up those things has enough discipline
or surpervision to do it properly. Nobody can accept as
a solution but the person looking for a solution.
Edit: If that Accept as Solution button was always there,
that would be a much different story.

Can you send me the thread just so I can get an idea of what's happening? The most common incorrect usage is a user marking their own 'Thank you' reply as the accepted solution, which drives me nuts - but I'm sure there's other incorrect ways to use it out there too.
So in that thread, I don't see any formally accepted solution yet (the infamous green checkmark). The option to accept something as solution though appears as soon as someone else posts in your thread (only needs to be one reply), regardless of whether or not they had something valuable or helpful to say.

Thanks Jillian, maybe I just didn't see it automatically
appear. I don't really know why anything happened in
my mind like that. And I don't know what caused me to
have doubts about the managment of it, I really am sorry.
