Accepted Solution

Accept as Solution

I just witnessed where this Accept as Solution will cause

more harm than good. Where someone is having a hard

time understanding the answer and an Accept as

Solution appears for no other reason than to make the

person even more frustrated trying to understand the

answer. I seen it happen and that's why I don't think

whoever is putting up those things has enough discipline

or surpervision to do it properly. Nobody can accept as

a solution but the person looking for a solution.

Edit: If that Accept as Solution button was always there,

that would be a much different story.

Can you send me the thread just so I can get an idea of what's happening? The most common incorrect usage is a user marking their own 'Thank you' reply as the accepted solution, which drives me nuts - but I'm sure there's other incorrect ways to use it out there too.

Thanks,

This Accept as Solution appeared AFTER it was CLEAR there

was no solution at hand.

So in that thread, I don't see any formally accepted solution yet (the infamous green checkmark). The option to accept something as solution though appears as soon as someone else posts in your thread (only needs to be one reply), regardless of whether or not they had something valuable or helpful to say.

Does that help?

Thanks Jillian, maybe I just didn't see it automatically

appear. I don't really know why anything happened in

my mind like that. And I don't know what caused me to

have doubts about the managment of it, I really am sorry.

BTW, I did finally get the solution and I did push the

solution button.
